Jammu, June 17: India has submitted to Bangladesh fresh evidence of the presence of nearly one hundred terrorist training camps sponsoring terrorism in North East and J&K, according to a senior Border Security Force (BSF) official. "We recently submitted fresh authentic evidence of 99 terrorist training camps in Bangladesh to Bangladesh government as these camps are sponsoring terrorism in the North East and have links with J&K," BSF additional director-general (ADG) A K Mitra told reporters here today.

Mitra, who is currently on a visit to International Border (IB) and counter-insurgency operation areas in J&K, said: "We have given them (Bangladesh) evidence of terrorist camps on their soil several times in last two years."

He said the Government of India is awaiting a reply from Bangladesh in connection with the fresh evidence submitted to them.

The BSF official said these camps are mostly located in forests and mountains opposite Tripura's border with Bangladesh.

Besides sponsoring terrorism in North East, these camps have links with J&K terrorists, he said and added this was revealed recently with arrest of a top militant of Kashmir-based Hizbul Mujahideen (HM).

He said investigation is on into HM link with terror camps in Bangladesh. "But in the past, Bangladesh has denied any such camp existed in its territory," he said.
