Ten bus passengers were abducted by an unidentified gang in Bihar`s Bagaha district on Thursday, police said. The abductors blocked the road at Chaminia bridge near Bhitihari in Bagaha police district and forcibly stopped the Balmiki Travels bus. The abducters then began lootings and finally took away 15 people with them. Of these, 5 have been rescued, IG (Operation) Neelmani said in Patna.

The remianing 10 people are yet to be traced. The difficulty lies in the fact that these people were led away to a thick jungle. This is causing problems in search operations. The situation in the area continues to be tense. Police have mounted a rescue operation, but the identities of the abductors is yet to be ascertained.
