Raipur, Aug 08: In a jolt to the NCP in Chhattisgarh, the party's Bilaspur unit president Gajapati Chandrakar rejoined Congress in the presence of Chief Minister Ajit Jogi yesterday night. Jointly addressing a press conference along with Jogi, Chandrakar said that it was a great mistake by him and others to leave Congress.

Asserting that he was not lured by congress to join the party, Chandrakar said that he had left NCP as its leaders had no faith in him and had not given him any responsibility.

Chandrakar said that he wanted to warn others about leaving congress, as other parties had no future.

Observing that Chandrakar remained a congressman despite being in NCP, Jogi claimed the party will return to power in the assembly polls scheduled later this year.
He said the fact that large number of people were joining Congress was only an indication that his party will get a land-slide victory.

Congress sources told newspersons that though the decision was taken earlier, Chandrakar was re-admitted yesterday ahead of NCP's rally in Jogi's home district of Bilaspur today.

NCP president Sharad Pawar, P A Sangma and state president V C Shukla are expected to participate in the rally.
