Musharraf shocked over assassination of Nepal`s royal family
Pakistan`s military ruler General Pervez Musharraf on Saturday expressed shock and grief over the assassination of Nepalese King Birendra, Queen Aishwarya and other members of the royal family.
Pakistan's military ruler General Pervez Musharraf on Saturday expressed shock and grief over the assassination of Nepalese King Birendra, Queen Aishwarya and other members of the royal family.
In his condolence message to Nepalese Prime Minister, Girija Prasad Koirala, Musharraf said the late king was a popular monarch who made a singular contribution to the democratic evolution of Nepal and will hold a very special place in the history of his country. He said that the King has been held in high esteem in Pakistan for his statesmanship and for safeguarding the Nepals sovereignty and national dignity for his commitment to the welfare of the Nepalese and for his contribution to the promotion of friendship and co-operation between Nepal and Pakistan. His passing will not only be mourned in Nepal but also in Pakistan, Musharraf said.
"I have been deeply shocked and grieved at the tragic demise of his majesty King Birendra, her majesty Queen Aishwarya and other members of the royal family," he said adding people of Pakistan joined him in extending the condolences to the people of Nepal over this terrible loss.
