Special excise raids to nab illegal liquor traders in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Mar 07: Sleuths of Rajasthan excise department will launch a fortnight-long special state-wide campaign from March 10 to check sale of illegal liquor and arrest those involved.
Raids would be carried out during the drive period -- March 10 to March 26 -- throughout the state, Excise Commissioner Dr Manjit Singh said here yesterday.
The commissioner said that department personnel would raid spots where illegal liquor was manufactured and sold.
Apart from this, those transporting illegal liquor would be apprehended on major streets and roads under a blockade to be laid for the purpose, he added.
Exercise department personnel would carry a list of liquor smugglers, who are still engaged in the business, and instant action would be taken against them, the state excise chief said.
