Patiala, Oct 29: Noted Punjabi singer, Daler Mehndi, who was questioned for four hours yesterday in connection with the alleged illegal human trafficking case, has been asked to appear before DIG of Patiala I P S Sahota today, a senior police officer said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Patiala Paramraj Singh Umranangal told reporters that Daler had been asked to appear at 11 am today before the DIG for further investigations into the case.
The case is being investigated by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by SP (headquarter) R L Monga whereas Sahota was enquiring into the singer's allegation that the Patiala Police had demanded Rs 1.50 crore to keep his name out of the case.
Umranangal said that he was not aware as to why the DIG had asked Daler Mehndi to appear before him (the DIG) but sources said that probably Sahota wanted to question him regarding his allegation of police demanding Rs 1.50 crore.
Sahota was not available despite repeated attempts.
