Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi criticised the resignation by two Samata Party ministers from the NDA coordination committee set up by him and said they should have instead sought a negotiated settlement. The two ministers Ramesh Singh Munda and Ramchandra Kesri, who quit the NDA panel on November nine, should not have gone public with their grievances, Marandi told newsmen.
A day later, Samata leader and railway minister Nitish Kumar had reprimanded his party ministers for quitting the panel and asked them to act more responsibly as they were part of a the ruling coalition. Asked about science and technology minister belonging to the Jharkhand Vananchal Congress, Samresh Singh, who resigned on November 11, the Chief Minister said the resignation was unwarranted and efforts were on to make Singh withdraw it.
Singh had resigned complaining of bureaucratic dominance over the functioning of the government.
