Jaipur, July 07: The Rajashtna Pradesh BJP kisan cell today demanded the state government to waive farmers' loan upto Rs. 25,000 in view of the fifth consecutive year of drought. In a statement here, its president Atar Singh Bhandana said crops worth Rs.25,000 crore were either damaged or could not be cultivated due to failure of rains.
He recalled that the previous Shekhawat government too waived the loans upto Rs. 10,000 in favour of farmers.
About 12.46 lakh farmers were then benefitted, he added.
He also demanded implementation of crop insurance scheme for farmers. Bureau Report
