Khartoum, Oct 22: "Bahut accha hai" (very good) remarked President A P J Abdul Kalam to 40-year old Mohammed Hamid who rendered the evergreen number "dukh bhare din beetere bhaiyya" from old film "Mother India" at the banquet hosted in honour of Kalam by his Sudanese counterpart Omer Hassan Ahmed al Bashir here last night. Shorn of the formalities of speech making, the banquet held in the historic presidential palace, where a British Governor Gordon was shot dead by Sudanese freedom fighter Mahdi in early last century, was enlivened with Sudanese folk music and the Hindi song by Hamid, who had his education in Nagpur and Jabalpur and after getting his masters in economics is employed in the taxation department of Sudan government. "It is indeed a great honour to be singing at a banquet for Indian President," said Hamid. "It is indeed a great honour to be singing at a banquet for Indian President," said Hamid.
