New York, Aug 26: Thailand's tennis superstar Paradorn Srichaphan will present his TD Waterhouse Cup to his Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej when he returns to Thailand.
After winning the Cup in New York on Sunday, the 23-year-old champion kneeled on the court in prayer and dedicated his triumph to the King.
He told reporters that he would present the Cup to his Majesty when he and his family would be granted an audience with the King on return to Thailand, media said.
Defending champion Paradorn took 70 minutes to beat his American rival James Blake 6-2 6-4 in the final.
The victory gave Paradorn his fourth career ATP crown and second of the year, as well as a timely confidence boost for the US Open, which began on Monday.

Blake was broken twice in the opening set and was never able to get back into the match.

Paradorn, seeded 11th, will meet Frenchman Cyril Saulnier in the first round of the US Open today.
