Civil Secretariat and other move offices re-open in Jammu
Jammu, Nov 03: In keeping with the 400-year old tradition of shifting of state capital with the change in season in Jammu and Kashmir, the Civil Secretariat and other offices, which closed at Srinagar for bi-annual durbar move on October 24, re-opened here this morning amid tight security.

security.
The Chief Minister Mufti Mohmmad Sayeed arrived at the
Secretariat sharp at 1000 hours, when he was received by several
ministers, Chief Secretary and other senior officers.
A smartly dressed contingent of the state police presented guard of honour to Chief Minister, who later inspected it and and took salute.
Later Sayeed along with Deputy Chief Minister, Mangat Ram Sharma, besides other ministers and officers took round of the various offices in the Secretariat.
Sayeed directed for taking immediate steps for weeding out old records and laid stress on speedy computerisation of all the departments to minimize the number of hard files.
He also called for making offices fully functional immediately so that people's problems were addressed.
