New Delhi, Nov 19: A city court today rejected a
plea made by an alleged associate of fake stamp paper racket
kingpin Abdul Kareem Telgi that he be shifted to a different
cell in Tihar jail.
Metropolitan magistrate Dig Vinay Singh dismissed the
application by Sushanth Kumar Dass after jail authorities
denied that he had been attacked by fellow jailmates.
Dass, in his application moved yesterday, alleged that he had been attacked in jail and a piece of flesh from his thigh bitten off. He prayed that he be shifted to a different ward.
The court then asked the jail authorities to explain the charges. The authorities replied today that Dass suffered the injuries after a fall in the bathroom following which the court dismissed the application.
Sleuths of Delhi Police crime branch had arrested Dass and Lalit Pataudi, both alleged associates of Telgi, from the Capital last week.
Presently they are in judicial custody. Bureau Report
