New Delhi, June 30: Cellular service provider Hutch today launched an innovative recharge initiative 'direct top-up' for its pre-paid customers with the help of five leading commercial banks - HDFC Bank, UTI Bank, IDBI Bank, SBI and Citibank. To avail the launched service, a subscriber needs to hold a bank account with one of the banks, a Hutch release said.
Hutch subscribers can now recharge their prepaid cards of any denomination by sending simply an SMS to 140 or walking into the closest ATM of any of the tied-up bank. The service, which is available from today, will give hutch Delhi prepaid subscribers access to 250 ATMs in Delhi and 2000 ATMs across the country.
To refill prepaid card through SMS, a subscriber has to register with the bank and would receive a pin through SMS which needs to be used each time the subscriber undertakes an SMS based transaction. To recharge through the ATM, the subscriber would need to select the Hutch prepaid refilling options on the ATM screen and enter his/her mobile number.
In both the processes, a subscriber is spared from the inconvenience of physically carrying the recharge coupons when he is roaming or unable to go to a Hutch outlet. Bureau Report
