Patiala, Dec 03: A local court today rejected the plea of Balwinder Kaur wife of Shamsher Mehndi, brother of noted Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi for quashing of proceedings to declare her a proclaimed offender. Senior sub judge P S Dhanoa rejected the plea filed by Balwinder Kaur recently.
The court had last month initiated proceedings on Patiala police plea for declaration of Daler Mehndi, his wife daljit Kaur, Balwinder Kaur and some others as they had been avoiding the police.
If the suspects do not appear before the court before December 19, it can declare them pos.
Shamsher is presently in judicial custody in the case registered against him, Daler and three others on the complaint of one Bakshish Singh, who alleged that he was not taken abroad even though he had paid Rs 13 lakh out of Rs 15 lakh demanded.
