Jammu, Oct 01: Pakistan troops resorted to shelling and firing from across the Line of Control and International Border on various sectors from Saichen Glacier to Kathua district in J&K on Monday night, a defence spokesman of Northern Command said here today. Pakistani troops resorted to artillery shelling in Yaldor area of Kargil district from 1645 hours to 2300 hours on Monday. They also targeted Moshkoh area of Drass sector with 60 artillery shells from early Tuesday morning, the spokesman said.

He said the troops also targeted Dawar area of Gurez sector in Kupwara district and Hadanbrox in Kargil district with mortar and artillery shells for varying periods since last evening forcing Indian troops to retaliate.
In Batalick sector of Kargil district, Pakistani troops resorted to machine gun fire for six hours from 2100 hours on Monday and fired about 100 rounds in Siachen Glacier for about four hours last night, the spokesman said.

The troops resorted to small arms and mortar fire for two hours in Mendhar sector of Poonch district while intermittent small arms firing from across the border was witnessed all along the International Border from Akhnoor to Hirangar sectors on Monday night, he said.
However, there was no loss of life or damage on the Indian side, the spokesman said adding casuality on the other side is not know. Bureau Report
