Karachi, Nov 10: Pakistani selectors today reversed their decision to drop experienced wicketkeeper Moin Khan after a call from the country's cricket boss urged them to include him in the squad for a five-match one-day series against New Zealand later this month. "Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Lieutenant General Tauqir Zia talked to chief selector Aamir Sohail and convinced him to add the experienced Moin in the list of probables," PCB chief executive Ramiz Raja said.
New Zealand, expected here on November 20, will play their first match in Faisalabad on November 22.
Their itinerary includes two matches in Rawalpindi on November 24 and 25 and another two in Lahore on November 29 and December 1.
Moin and equally experienced wicketkeeper Rashid Latif were excluded from a list of 22 probables picked up by the selection committee last week.
The decision came under strong criticism in the national media despite Sohail's claim the decision was targeted at a future with young wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal.
It also prompted bitterness between the chief selector and coach Javed Miandad. Miandad said the announcement was arbitrary as Sohail consulted neither him nor the Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul Haq. Bureau Report
