J&K government orders inquiry into Anantnag firing
Srinagar, Sept 12: Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the firing incident in which two students and a policeman were injured at Hillerhama-Kokernag in Anantnag district on August 30.
Srinagar, Sept 12: Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the firing incident in which two students and a policeman were injured at Hillerhama-Kokernag in Anantnag district on August 30.
The district development commissioner, Anantnag, appointed Additional Development Commissioner, Sheikh Ghulam Rasool as inquiry officer to investigate the circumstances that led to the firing incident, an official announcement said here today.
Sheikh has been asked to submit the report to the district magistrate by September 21.
Two students and a policeman were injured in the firing by security forces on august 30 when the cop and the students objected to the alleged harassment of passengers by security forces.
