Ahmedabad, Nov 29: All the accused in "tiffin" bomb blast case today challenged invoking of Pota in the case even as five of the 21 accused sought discharge claiming the
investigating agency had "no evidence" against them.
In an application before the special Pota court, five of the accused said the investigating agency had "no evidence" of their involvement in the case and as such, they should be
discharged.
The discharge application was filed by Munawar Baig alias captain Yakub Miyan Mirza, Idris Khan Pathan, Afzal Khan alias Babu Murtuza Khan Pathan, Mohd Zaheer Sheikh and Sanobar Khan Shakur Khan pathan.
The invoking of Pota was challenged by the 21 accused in another application.
Special Pota court judge Sonia Gokani reserved the orders on the applications for December 3 after hearing arguments of special public prosecutor H M Dhruv and defence advocate Ilyas Pathan.
"Tiffin" blasts had rocked four municipal buses on May 29 last year, leaving 12 injured.
The crime branch had filed chargesheets against 21 accused, including five alleged "ISI" agents, for "conspiring to strike terror in minds of a section of community, using explosives, to avenge the post-Godhra communal riots". Bureau Report
