Moscow, Sept 07: Move over borscht and blinis -- Russians in a village outside of Moscow intend to make the world's largest salad.
When all the chopping and mixing is done, the concoction of cucumbers, tomatoes and herbs is expected to weigh in at 2,600 kilograms (5,720 pounds) and make it into the Guiness book of world records, the ITAR-TASS news agency reported Saturday.
The mixing, incidentally, will be done with wooden spoons the size of human beings and in a plastic bowl with the diameter of three meters (yards) at the village of Kotelniki.
The current world salad record belongs to residents of the Polish town of Pleshev, who mixed a 1,363-kilogram vegetable salad.
No estimates for how long it would take to consume the dish were immediately available. Bureau Report
