Jammu, June 06: Militants have been using some of
their hideouts in higher reaches as resting places, equipping
them with bedding and adequate rations, police said here
today.
This has come to light when a joint party of police and
security forces busted two hideouts of militants in
Mohra-Sanji-Bhagla area in Noushera area of Rajouri district
in Jammu and Kashmir yesterday.
The hideouts were of the dimension of six feet into five
feet and five feet into three feet deep within the forest
area, police said, adding about 80 kgs of rations in tin and
plastic boxes were recovered from the hideouts.
Besides, recoveries included two mattresses, one shawl,
one stove and a bucket.
However, there were no arms and ammunition found from
the hideouts which were smashed by the security forces later.
Ultras, who usually go out during the day time, were
using these hideouts as resting places for the night, police
said.
Meanwhile, cross firing between security forces and
militants was reported last night in Khows area of Budhal
Tehsil in Rajouri district. However, there was no report
of any casualty or damage in the incident, they said.
