Jammu, June 06: Militants have been using some of their hideouts in higher reaches as resting places, equipping them with bedding and adequate rations, police said here today. This has come to light when a joint party of police and security forces busted two hideouts of militants in Mohra-Sanji-Bhagla area in Noushera area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir yesterday. The hideouts were of the dimension of six feet into five feet and five feet into three feet deep within the forest area, police said, adding about 80 kgs of rations in tin and plastic boxes were recovered from the hideouts. Besides, recoveries included two mattresses, one shawl, one stove and a bucket.

However, there were no arms and ammunition found from the hideouts which were smashed by the security forces later.
Ultras, who usually go out during the day time, were using these hideouts as resting places for the night, police said.
Meanwhile, cross firing between security forces and militants was reported last night in Khows area of Budhal Tehsil in Rajouri district. However, there was no report of any casualty or damage in the incident, they said. Bureau Report
