New Delhi, July 28: The move to end the boycott of
Defence Minister George Fernandes has been put on the
backburner for the time being even as congress was making
efforts to convince the left, RJD and others that the protest
action was turning counterproductive in view of "serious
lapses" in security matters.
"I am not (not) going to say anything in this matter. We
are in the process of discussions", said a top Congress leader
after party president Sonia Gandhi was briefed by her senior
party colleagues on the deliberations at a meeting of
opposition leaders on the issue today.
The leader stated this when asked about the conflicting
signals from the congress and the reservations expressed by
other opposition parties like the left and RJD on ending the
18-month old boycott.
