NCP demands CBI inquiry into the killing of its treasurer
New Delhi, June 05: Describing the murder of its Chhattisgarh treasurer Ram Avtar Jaggi as `political killing`, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) today wrote to Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani demanding a CBI inquiry into the killing.
New Delhi, June 05: Describing the murder of its Chhattisgarh treasurer Ram Avtar Jaggi as "political killing", Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) today wrote to Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani demanding a CBI inquiry into the killing.
"It is a political killing. We have written to Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani demanding a CBI inquiry into the murder," NCP general secretary Tariq Anwar told reporters here.
He alleged that another former Congress leader V C Shukla, who had also joined NCP, was also receiving threatening calls since yesterday evening.
The party has also called for Chhattisgarh bandh tomorrow.
Anwar said Jaggi's son Satish in an FIR with the police "clearly mention the names of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi and his son".
