Jaisalmer, Nov 07: The BSF has stepped up vigil on the western border with Pakistan ahead of December one assembly elections in Rajasthan, official sources said today. Police and other security agencies have also been directed to remain alert to thwart any attempt from across the border to disturb the polls, they said.
The sources said Pakistan's ISI might try to create trouble while pushing in infiltrators into the country through the border state during the election days. BSF jawans were making special patrolling rounds to abort any such attempt, they said.
Police was keeping an eye on hotels, guest houses and other such places, besides std booths and cyber cafes to nab those who might disturb peace and harmony, they added.
Those having a criminal record have been asked to report to the area police stations daily, the sources said.
