Madrid, Apr 24: Real Madrid's Spanish international striker Raul will be back in action within a month, the club said here Tuesday.
Raul was forced to miss yesterday's Champions League quarter-final clash at Manchester United after requiring an emergency appendicitis operation on Monday.
The 25 year-old striker, who has scored nine goals in this season's champions league and 43 in his career, felt unwell after training on Monday and was diagnosed with appendicitis later in the evening after arriving at a Madrid hospital.
Club medical officials proclaimed the operation a complete success on Tuesday.
"He had a good night, doesn't have a fever, is taking liquids and sitting up in bed," said Real medical official Juan Carlos Hernandez.

"It's still very soon to give an exact date when he'll be back but he should be running in 15 days and ready to play in three to four weeks," added Hernandez.

Nevertheless, Raul will almost certainly miss both legs of the champions league semifinals early next month.

The Spaniards are defending a 3-1 lead from the first leg two weeks ago at their Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

He is also expected to miss at least Real's next three Spanish league matches, and his absence will be keenly felt.

Real have a one point lead at the top of the Spanish first division, with eight games to play, and with Deportivo La Coruna and Real Sociedad both snapping at the European champions' heels.
