New Delhi, Nov 20: Investigators today claimed to have acquired more evidence against Madhumani Tripathi, wife of jailed former BSP minister Amarmani, as his cousin Rohit Chaturvedi had "revealed" that she wanted the child of Madhumita Shukla to be aborted in any condition.
CBI sources claimed that Chaturvedi, who is at present in
judicial custody in Uttar Pradesh jail, told the agency
sleuths during his interrogation at the CBI headquarters that
Madhumani never wanted the child to see the light of the day
and had asked him to "ensure that”.
Chaturvedi's statement had been filed with the special CBI court in Lucknow which could help the agency in seeking a warrant against Madhumani, who has gone missing ever since the alleged killer of Madhumita, Prakash Chander Pandey, was arrested by the CBI on November 10.
Chaturvedi was brought here alongwith Pandey and his alleged accomplice Santosh Kumar Rai. The other two have refused to record the statement under Section 164 Criminal Penal Code before a magistrate.
The CBI was also likely not pushing for a lie-detector test against the three, the sources said.
Meanwhile, the CBI had asked the sister and mother of Madhumita, who was shot dead on May nine this year, to appear before the agency for some "clarifications”. Bureau Report
