New Delhi, Oct 17: A day after UN Security Council`s adoption of a US-sponsored resolution outlining Iraq`s future, India today said any future decision on sending troops in the war-ravaged country would be taken keeping in view ground realities and other factors. "We have noted the mandate given for the setting up of a multinational force under unified command as also the immediate reaction of several important countries like Germany, Russia and France on the question of commitment of troops," external affairs ministry spokesman told reporters. He said "in so far as troop deployment by India is concerned,, there have been several developments since our decision on July 14, 2003," he said.
The Cabinet Committee on security had then stated that if there was an "explicit" UN mandate, the question of sending troops could be considered.

The MEA spokesman said "any future decisions in this regard will be taken keeping in mind the realities of the situation on the ground, our international responsibilities and domestic needs and security concerns".
