Bangkok, Nov 14: The establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Power Grid, linking Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam, will save as much as USD1.6 billion in investment within eight years, according to a feasibility study. Sitthiporn Ratanopas, governor of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), said that the feasibility study conducted by the Asean Power Grid working committee has shown that if each country invest separately the total investment would go over USD 119 billion.
Together in the Asean Power Grid project, investment would be around USD117.67 billion, a saving of USD1.643, he said. Bureau Report
