PDP calls for meaningful Indo-Pak dialogue on Kashmir
Srinagar, Nov 05: Condemning the killing of political activists in Jammu and Kashmir, People`s Democratic Party today appealed to India and Pakistan to initiate a `meaningful dialogue` to resolve the Kashmir issue.

today appealed to India and Pakistan to initiate a "meaningful
dialogue" to resolve the Kashmir issue.
"PDP passed a resolution appealing to both India and
Pakistan to initiate a meaningful dialogue so that the present
impasse ends and peace and harmony returns in the region,"
party spokesman Syed Basharat Bukhari said in a statement
here.
PDP and Congress form the ruling coalition in the state.
The resolution was passed at a condolence meeting called after the killing of PDP's zonal president Ghulam Mohammad Ganai, alias Gul Bub, by militants yesterday in Pampore, he said.
The party also called for a judicial probe into the killing, Bukhari said.
Party general secretary Tariq Hameed Karra paid glowing tributes to Ganai, saying he had done a lot to serve the people of the valley. The meeting was attended by several party leaders, including MLAs.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today visited the family of the deceased leader and offered his condolences.
