Jamui, Sept 14: Bihar police today seized nine crude bombs and a country-made revolver from the possession of the inmates of Bihar's Jamui district jail today. Sub-divisional officer A K Mallick told a news agency on a tip off, a police team headed by deputy SP Rambachan Singh raided the jail premises and after a thorough search recovered nine crude bombs and a loaded revolver wrapped in a gunny bag from the kitchen of the district jail.

The SDO said the inmates had made the bombs in a bid to escape from the jail. Complicity of jail employees in providing the materials for making bombs could not be ruled out, he said. Security in the jail campus has been intensified and the police is making an inquiry into the incident, Mallick said.
