Nwe York, Nov 21: Evanescence has postponed its upcoming U.S. tour dates with Wind-Up Records labelmates Seether and Finger Eleven. The band will resume roadwork with three shows in Canada beginning Dec. 12 in Montreal. Those will be followed by three weeks of dates in Australia, New Zealand and Japan. A spokesperson says a run of U.S. dates may follow in the spring.
The group was plunged into uncertainty last month, when founding guitarist Ben Moody abruptly returned to the U.S. in the midst of a European tour. For now, Moody is being replaced by Cold guitarist Terry Balsamo, but it is unknown if that substitution is permanent.
Prior to the Canadian shows, Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee will be on hand Dec. 4 for the announcement of the 2004 Grammy nominees in Los Angeles.
Evanescence's debut album, "Fallen," has been one of the biggest new rock success stories of the year, having sold more than 2.7 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
