Bhopal, Nov 17: Promising a complete ban on cow slaughter, BJP manifesto for Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls today pledged to provide a responsive and accountable government to ensure balanced development through privateinvestment in sectors like power and roads.

The 44-page document, released by state BJP chief Kailash Joshi here in the presence of senior party leaders Arun Jaitley and Uma Bharati, also promised to provide opportunities for development to minorities without any discrimination or appeasement.
Listing priorities, Bharti said power generation would be substantially raised by launching projects with private and public investments while road network would de strengthened with Central assistance as also private participation.
Concrete steps would be taken to provide drinking water to all, to boost agriculture and industry, to promote tourism and to generate jobs, she said.
Stating the ban on cow slaughter in force in Madhya Pradesh was not total, Jaitley, the Union Law Minister, said slaughter of sick and unhealthy cattle is allowed now.
He said that the BJP manifesto seeks a comprehensive law to impose complete ban on cow slaughter.
