Kathmandu, Dec 08: At least five Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Nepal, where the rebels shot dead a police personnel, official sources said today. A group of rebels attacked a police patrol at Baxila village in Khotang district last night forcing the security forces to retaliate, the sources said adding that in the ensuing encounter five militants were killed.

In a separate incident, Maoists shot dead a police inspector at Sabaila Police Station in Dhanusha district. Bureau Report
