Mumbai, July 12: With a view to promote tourism, Oman has announced new visa regulations facilitating the visit of Indian nationals to the Gulf country. The relaxing of visa procedures by Oman for Indian nationals was a very positive approach by Oman Government which will go a long way in strengthening ties between the two countries, under secretary of tourism, ministry of commerce and industry, Mohsin Bin Khamis Al Balushi said on Thursday.

Two categories of visas can now be availed of by Indian nationals to visit Sultanate -- single entry visit visa and multiple entry visa, he disclosed.

The single entry visa is issued on arrival at Seeb International Airport in Muscat for both individuals and groups. In order to avail of this visa, a complete tourist package from specific tourist companies approved by Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Oman has to be purchased.
The package should include hotel accommodation and air ticket using the national airline, Oman Air. The single entry visa is granted regardless of sex or age, the Oman official said. Bureau Report
