Sept 23: Director of football David Pleat is ready to act as caretaker manager for the next three games until the international break - giving the White Hart Lane hierarchy the chance to appoint a successor to sacked Glenn Hoddle.
And Curbishley and Toppmoller, who led Leverkusen to the Champions League final in 2002, are being touted as potential candidates, Curbishley has won a big reputation at The Valley, while Toppmoller is currently out of football but is lined up to take over at Kaiserslautern.

It has been reported Curbishley has a clause in his contract allowing him to talk to interested clubs if they agree a compensation figure.
Former Barcelona coach Raddy Antic is currently the bookies' favourite.

Celtic boss Martin O'Neill had set the early pace in the market, but Antic has been backed to such an extent that some bookmakers are refusing to accept any more bets on him. O'Neill's Rangers counterpart Alex McLeish is also in the frame, but he has recently agreed a new contract.
"Alex shook hands with honorary chairman David Murray on his new contract a few weeks ago," said a Rangers spokesman.

"All the fine print has been agreed and everything will be finalised very shortly," he added.
