Mobile phones worth Rs 4.30 lakhs seized in J-K
Jammu, Nov 23: The Sales Tax Department officials today seized mobile phones worth Rs 4.30 lakhs, which were being smuggled out without the payment of sales and excise taxes, at Lakhanpur border check post on Jammu-Pathankote National Highway in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

The mobile phones were found during a routine checkup in a bus proceeding to Jammu, Ajaj A Kakroo, Deputy Commissioner, sales tax said adding they were kept in three bags underneath readymade garments.
Jatinder Singh, a resident of Noida, who was smuggling the phones was held and later let off after payment of penalty, Kakroo added.
