Madurai, July 07: Tamil Nadu government which has set in motion the process for recruitment of junior assistants on contract basis in place of dismissed government employees has laid out stringent conditions, including a ban on their joining any union, official sources said.
Madurai, July 07: Tamil Nadu government which has set in motion the process for recruitment of junior assistants on contract basis in place of dismissed government employees has laid out stringent conditions, including a ban on their joining any union, official sources said.
The assistants would be paid a consolidated salary of Rs
4,000 a month and they should not join any workers' or
employees' union. The workers would be entitled only a day's
casual leave each month and 30 minutes of interval every day,
the sources said.
The contract employees would not be entitled to any of the benefits or privileges enjoyed by permanent government staff and they cannot seek transfer to other departments.
They could be dismissed anytime if they were found wanting in their work, the sources said.
The government has dismissed more than one lakh employees under the essential services maintenance act after they went on an indefinite strike since July two.
A Coimbatore report said there was a beeline of aspirants for the temporary posts at the district collectorate where the interviews were being held.
