Kishanganj (Bihar), May 08: Accusing ruling RJD activists of indulging in large-scale booth capturing during the poll, union textile minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain today urged the Election Commission to order repoll at 60 polling stations under Jokihat assembly segment in Kishanganj. In a letter faxed to the Chief Election Commissioner T S Krishna Murthy, Hussain alleged that his RJD rival and Bihar building construction minister Taslimuddin and his son Sarfaraz Alam prevented BJP agents from reaching as many as 100 polling stations in Jokihat where polling was rigged.
He claimed that he had "substantial evidence to prove that many electronic voting machines were taken to the house of Sarfaraz Alam and were kept there for whole night for recording illegal votes after which the EVMs reached the strong room in Kishanganj a day after the May 05 polling".
When contacted, Taslimuddin and his son described the allegations as false and concocted and accused Hussain and his henchmen of booth grabbing.
