Ewood Park, Sept 14: A Michael Owen double and a last-minute strike from Harry Kewell delivered the points for Liverpool against ten-man Blackburn at Ewood Park.
Matt Jansen had got Blackburn off to the perfect start with a stunning left foot drive from 20 yards. But an Owen penalty quickly got the visitors back on level terms and Blackburn were reduced to ten men a minute later when Lucas Neill received a straight red card for a wild lunge at Jamie Carragher.
Liverpool's Czech striker Milan Baros was not so fortunate - he had to go off with a broken ankle.
"It's a sour victory, a victory marred by the fact we lost two players injured," said Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier. "Milan has a broken ankle and will be operated latest by tomorrow, it's a bad injury."
Former Blackburn player Kevin Davies' renaissance continued with a 23rd minute strike as Bolton claimed all three points with a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough.

A late header from Bruno N'Gotty made sure of the points for Bolton and left Boro still looking for their first victory of the season.

"It was an unacceptable performance," raged Boro boss Steve Mclaren. "I am very disappointed for all the supporters - I feel their hurt."

Everton and Newcastle served up the most dramatic encounter of the day with both sides reduced to ten men in a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park.
