New Delhi, Jan 20: Congress president Sonia Gandhi today met leaders of major Naga insurgent group NSCN (I-M) and is understood to have told them that her party stood for "long lasting" peace in the north eastern state but a solution should not create further problems in that region. "We are all for long lasting peace but the solution should not create further problems," party sources quoted Gandhi as having told NSCN (I-M) chairman Isak Chisi Swu and general secretary T H Muivah here. The meeting, which had been sought by the NSCN (I-M) leadership, lasted 30 minutes in which Swu and Muivah explained their perception of the decades-old Naga problem.
However, the crucial talks between NSCN (I-M) leadership and the Centre, scheduled for today, was postponed till tomorrow but informed sources said informal level parleys did take place. "The talks will now be held tomorrow and the day after.
