New Delhi, Oct 10: Despite apparent warming up of ties with BSP, Congress today said it had no "formal or informal" talks with BSP president Mayawati with regard to a tie-up during the forthcoming assembly elections in five states. "We have had no formal or informal talks with Mayawati," party spokesman S Jaipal Reddy told reporters when asked if the party was willing to respond to BSP president's statement that she was ready to join hands with anyone, including Congress, to "teach a lesson" to BJP.
Stating that the Congress concern over the CBI raids on the premises of Mayawati and her relatives had nothing to do with any political considerations, he said the party has not taken any view on the reported statement by the former UP chief minister on the issue of a tie-up.

On the BJP charge that Congress-ruled states going to polls were violating the election code of conduct, Reddy said the statement was too "generalistic" and said they were free to approach the election commission if having "specific complaints".
