Mumbai, July 02: In keeping with a judicial order, film actor Sanjay Dutt, accused in 1993 bomb blast case, today appeared before a special court which exempted him till July 7. Sanjay was summoned by the court to appear today as his exemption period expired yesterday. Subject to few conditions, the designated judge P D Kode had allowed the actor to visit USA and UK till June end to perform in stage shows.
The actor arrived from abroad last night, informed his lawyer Farhana Shah. Sanjay is facing the charges of possessing AK-56 rifle in a notified area under Tada (P) Act and destroying the weapon. The actor has refuted the charges. In a related development, 85 accused on bail, who appeared on June 30 before a court, have also been exempted till July 7. Thirty other accused, lodged in Central Prison, would also be produced before the court on that day. Bureau Report
