WB govt gets Rs 175-crore DFID assistance
Kolkata, Oct 29: The West Bengal government has received an assistance of Rs 175 crore from department for international development, the British government`s funding agency.

The state Industry Minister, Nirupom Sen, today said that
the money would be utilised for restructuring the ailing
public sector units in West Bengal.
Sen had visited UK for having talks with DFID officials for negotiating financial assistance required for the purpose of restructuring the state PSUs.
The minister said that the state government had decided to close down two PSUs as they could not be revived at all.
Out of balance 14, the government would restructure them with the help of foreign and private capital.
