New Delhi, Dec 06: Former Union minister Dilip Singh Judeo has been asked to appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for questioning in connection with the bribery scandal in which he is allegedly involved, new CBI chief Uma Shankar Misra said today.
Talking to reporters after taking over as the CBI Director from Mr P C Sharma who retired today, Mr Misra said the notices were issued yesterday to Mr Judeo, his then personal secretary Natwar Singh Rateria and several others for appearance before the agency for questioning.
Mr Rateria, who had not responded to the previous notice, has said he would appear before the agency for questioning this time.
Mr Misra said the agency was approaching the case in a most professional manner, but did not commit on the time period for solving it.

``There are a lot of things required to be done in the case like collection of facts, corroboration of facts, forensic examination of the videotape and the voice test to prove if the tape had been tampered with,`` he added.
Denying any agency official had been transferred due to pressure in the case, Mr Sharma, the outgoing CBI chief, said ``This is absolutely preposterous. Transfers do take place, but no one has been transferred in connection with this case.``
Among others issued notices were those who had booked the room in the Hotel Taj Mahal in the capital and paid the bills, those who were present in the hotel room at that time and some hotel employees, CBI sources told.
