Hubli, July 05: Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna today ruled out the state going for early assembly polls along with Lok Sabha, in the event of NDA advancing the elections. "I don't rule out mid term Lok Sabha polls early next year. But we will go to (assembly) elections only September next," Krishna told reporters here dismissing the prospect of the state going for early elections.
Asked to rate the chances of Congress victory in the next assembly elections, Krishna refused to react, but added that the government's performance, despite facing major challenges like drought and Cauvery water sharing dispute, as well as the menace of forest bandit Veerappan, should reasonably ensure a verdict in favour of the Congress. Krishna also spiked the possibility of Congress scouting for poll alliances with other parties, saying “there is no need for it”. Bureau Report
