Ahmedabad, Nov 09: Police today arrested six more
persons in connection with the communal clash at Shah Alam
area of the city on Friday in which four persons including an
inspector were injured and one person is still reported
'missing', officials said here tonight.
One person from the area was arrested yesterday for his
alleged role in the clash.
The arrests of culprits in their early and mid 20's were made this afternoon from Shah Alam, Chandola Talav and areas near the incident spot, officials said.
Meanwhile, police continued to look for any traces of 32-year-old Mukesh Panchal around the slums and surrounding areas of the labour and minority dominated Talav.
Senior officials fear the worst if Panchal's whereabouts are not found soon.
Investigating officer and DCP (Zone VI) S M Katara told reporters that police have not yet found any trace of Panchal or his whereabouts inspite of hunting all day and his condition is still shrouded in mystery.
Inspite of finding his neighbour Ajay Shah's scooter abandoned at a chemical dump site yesterday, officials could not get any concrete evidence leading to Panchal from it.
Shah and Panchal were on the scooter when a rioting mob gheraoed and stabbed and beat them. While shah miraculously escaped alive, Panchal's fate is not known.
