Nagpur, July 13: A hectic schedule awaits Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani here today during his maiden visit to the second capital of Maharashtra after assuming office.
Advani, who is to arrive by a special Indian Airforce Plane, will address the BJP-Shiv Sena joint conclave, party sources said today.
He would inaugurate the new building of Nagpur union of working journalists, they said.
Advani would visit the memorial of RSS founder Dr Hedgewar at Reshimbagh and meet RSS chief K Sudarshan, they said adding he would also felicitate the then Janasangh city chief Dr Ramprakash Ahuja. Advani and Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray would address division-level joint conclave of BJP-Sena here today as part of preparations for Maharashtra Assembly elections due next year.
The conclave, a closed door affair, is likely to be attended by over a 1,000 workers of the saffron combine, bjp sources said here today.
The saffron parties are holding a series of conclaves across the state to gear up for the assembly polls, they said adding, BJP general secretary Pramod Mahajan and former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Gopinath Munde would also address the conclave. BJP state unit chief Pandurang Phundkar and opposition leader in state legislative council Nitin Gadkari, besides former chief minister and Sena leader Narayan Rane would also address the workers of both the parties, they added.
The saffron parties are holding a similar meeting at Pune today.
