New Delhi, Apr 24: As part of ongoing high-level engagement, national security adviser Brajesh Mishra will undertake a three-day visit to the us from may six for discussions with his American counterpart Condoleeza Rice and others on a host of issues, including Iraq. His visit will also coincide with the visit to India by US deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage which would be later followed by a trip by assistant Secretary of State for South Asia Christina Rocca. Initiating steps to ease Indo-Pak tension and press Islamabad to stop cross-border infiltration into Jammu and Kashmir would top the agenda of Armitage's visit to the sub-continent. Besides India, he will also visit Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Mishra will embark on a two-day visit to Iran from tomorrow during which he will meet his Iranian counterpart Hasan Rohani.

This is part of continuing exchanges and bilateral visits and regular contacts of the national security establishments of the two countries.

Mishra will call on president Mohammad Khatami and have discussions with foreign minister Kamal Kharrazi. India's focus on humanitarian assistance to the suffering people of Iraq and the issue of reconstruction of the war-ravaged country is expected to figure in the parleys. Bureau Report
