Accused in twin blasts had links with people in Chennai, Hyd
Mumbai, Oct 09: Police today claimed that the accused involved in August 25 twin blasts have revealed their links with conspirators in Hyderabad, Ernakulam and Chennai and said efforts were on to track the suspects.

The Joint Commissioner of Police Satyapal Singh told
reporters that the conspiracy was hatched in the Dubai office
of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Indian Muslims were brainwashed
when they went to perform Namaz in Masjids.
This was revealed by prime suspects Hanif Abdul Sayed and Jahid Patni during interrogations, he said.
Initially the police suspected the blasts were the handiwork of Gujarat revenge group but it has now transpired during investigations that the conspiracy was hatched before the Gujarat riots, police sources said.
Police said the suspects involved in the August 25 twin blasts were Hanif, his wife Fahimida, daughter Farheen, Zahid Patni and Arshad. However they have yet to be arrested in this case although they have been arrested in July 28 bomb blast. Co-accused Nasir was killed in police encounter recently.
With the arrests of these accused, police claimed to have busted the Hanif module of the conspirators.
Altogether seven blasts have occurred in the city and suburbs since December last year. Altogether 26 accused have been arrested so far.
