Sanjay Dutt, other accused to appear before court
Mumbai, May 02: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt and 86 other accused in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blast case will appear before a special court today.
Mumbai, May 02: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt and 86 other accused in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blast case will appear before a special court today.
The designated judge P D Kode had April 28th exempted the accused from appearing before the court till May 2. However, he had warned them not to leave the city without permission during the period.
They were also told not to establish contacts with absconding accused in the case and ensure that they were represented by their lawyers in the court. Dutt is facing trial since his arrest in April 1993. He was granted bail in October 1995 by the Supreme Court. Since then he has been coming to the court regularly.
The actor is facing the charge of possessing an AK-56 rifle in a notified area under Tada (P) Act (Mumbai) and destroying evidence (disposing of the rifle). The actor has already denied the charges. Bureau Report
