Lucknow, Oct 03: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav Wednesday met Governor Vishnu Kant Shastri and is understood to have discussed the impending ministry expansion amidst indications that the exercise will be carried out today.
Though official sources termed the meeting as a courtesy call, Samajwadi Party sources said the Chief Minister discussed the details of the ministry expansion.
Sources said Yadav is likely to induct 50 to 55 people in his Council of Ministers and almost all 22 BSP MLAs who joined SP recently would be rewarded with ministerial berth. The venue and time of the ministry expansion was announced yesterday.
Meanwhile, RLD chief Ajit Singh, whose party is a partner in the coalition government, met the Chief Minister on Wednesday and discussed the proposed ministry expansion.
